My alarm is going off in 4hrs, 49minutes! Then, I'm off to San Diego for my first Triathlon, a mini-Sprint. Pretty excited, which explains why instead of sleeping, I'm up watching YouTube Transition videos and blogging. Ok.. this will be me tomorrow. Ha.. not.
Thanks Jason Bahamundi for this inspiring and motivating video.
Man, I have a L-O-N-G- way to go!!

Just Doing It
I do not use Nike shoes.. but damn they make some good ads and commercials..
This is one of my favorite Nike commercials.. get's me pumped up and just makes me want to go run. It's called "Courage" and the killer soundtrack is by "The Killers"
"I got soul, but I'm not a soldier.."
Recently, I found this awesome Nike billboard ad that really spoke to me. Actually, these words have been speaking to me for years, as I lay on my couch watching TV and eating Cheetos cheese puffs.
I found it on OnTay's blog, TheRunnerGuy. Thanks OnTay!

2010 Kaiser Permanente Thrive LA Triathlon
The 2010 Los Angeles Kaiser Permanente Thrive Triathlon was held this past Sunday in Venice, California.
My wife is also a Kaiser Permanente employee (and member of the Thrive cult). She joined a KP Relay Team to do the Olympic Triathlon. She's a marathoner, but somehow got conned into doing the bike relay segment. It was a lot of fun, and a great event! I thought it was very well-run, with lots of support and Thrive presence everywhere. At the last minute, I wanted to get a relay team together, but couldn't find a swimmer. During a moment of excitement and self-delusion, I briefly considered registering to "tri" the Sprint Tri by myself. But with no swimming training, I just was not confident how far, or even if, I could swim in the ocean. Plus, I would have had to relinquish my duties as the official Team photographer.
Here are a few pictures and a short clip of the exciting swim start!
