Staggering!!

Here's my big problem. Wow.. 3 birthday parties in 2 days (2 of the parties were for me, but still!)

As much as it's a PITA (Pain-In-The-Ass).. The Running Fat Guy is right. I need to keep track of this!

  2. Tell me about it! I eat those "healthy" snacks - but even so - some grapes here, some nuts there, and voila! Calorie budget exceeded!

  3. lol.. i'm reading "In Defense of Food" by Pollen, and newly resolved to eat 'real' food.. had the craving and the local vending machine had nothing but cr@p. Only "approved" item was a very-small-appearing snack size lightly salted planters peanuts. Entered into my phone CalorieCounter, and WHAM!! .. shot my Fat% over 50% for the day. So sad. It's really an eye-opening education tracking food.. and I'm struggling with accurate estimations of portion sizes. What does 1OZ of sliced turkey look like? (let's just call it 2.5ozs to be sure i'm not cheating)

  4. I think there are stages to this:

[1] You are happily ignorant and in denial
[2] You start tracking and you become appalled
[3] The more you track and realize what portion sizes look like you start wondering if there's any reason to live
[4] You nearly starve to death
[5] You start learning how to prioritize your calories, fats and carbs
[6] You wander back to Step #1 by not tracking for long periods of time because you are too terrified to see the truth
    [7] You cycle between #5 and #6

I think I might be the bigger geek simply by compiling the list.
